Del Ray Beach, FL- Mrs. Selma Doris (Marcus) Welenchik, 86, of Del Ray Beach FL and a former resident of Waterbury, CT, passed away late Saturday evening at the Del Ray Medical Center. She was the widow of Morris Wilenchik.
Mrs. Wilenchik was born in Bridgeport, CT, Nov. 7, 1926, a daughter of the late Samuel and Sadie (Goldberg) Marcus and had been a resident of Waterbury until moving to Florida 24 years ago. While a resident of Waterbury, she and her husband owned and operated Brass City Plumbing for many years.
She leaves her daughter, Sheryl Gottlieb of Spring Valley, N.Y.; 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday Feb. 19, 2013 at 2 p.m. in Farband Cemetery, E. Morris, CT. with Rabbi Joseph Eisenbach of Chabad Lubavitch of Litchfield, officiating. Shiva will be observed in New York. The Alderson Funeral Home of Waterbury, 9 Holmes Ave, is assisting the family throughout the arrangements.
