Scott DeAngelis

Naugatuck - Scott “Dewey” H. DeAngelis, 52, passed away on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at Waterbury Hospital.

Scott was born July 9, 1969, in Waterbury, the son of Elizabeth (Findlay) DeAngelis and the late Douglas “Duke” DeAngelis. He was a meat cutter for various distributors and grocery stores in the area. A lifelong Naugatuck resident, Scott enjoyed fishing & hunting (anything outdoors), and live music - mainly the Grateful Dead & Black Sabbath. Scott was very well known and liked by many people. Family and friends jokingly called him The Mayor as he could not go anywhere without knowing someone. Anyone who spoke with Scott knew he loved his daughter more than anything. He had the biggest heart and would give his shirt off his back to anyone in need.

Along with his mother, Scott is survived by his daughter Abigail DeAngelis and her fiancé Gabriel Russo; his brother Keith DeAngelis; his niece Nicole Aguilar, her husband Nelson Aguilar, and their two children, Isabella and Alexander; his dog Shelby, and many friends. In addition to his father, he is predeceased by his sister Lori (DeAngelis) Heston.
