Ruth A. Porter

CHESHIRE – Ruth A. Porter, 92, passed away December 27, 2016 at Elim Park Baptist Home in Cheshire. She was the wife of the late Laurence A. Porter who passed away in 2000.

Mrs. Porter was born July 2, 1924 in Newton, MA, the daughter of the late Russell and Vera (Caulback) Schofield. She was raised in Waltham where she was a member of the former Emmanuel Methodist Church. In 2000 she moved to Stratford CT before moving to Elim Park in Cheshire in 2015. She was known for her love of the beach as well as the Boston Red Sox and NE Patriots.

Mrs. Porter is survived by her sons Wayne Porter and his wife Dianne of Bluffton, SC and Lance Porter and his wife Jacqui of Ayer, MA; her grandchildren Amy Disney of Stratford, Cindy Porter of Naugatuck, Erica Porter of Naugatuck, and Nicholas Porter of Ayer, MA; her great grandchildren Alicia Porter, Kassidy Seyler and Krystal Disney; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements – A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM on Wednesday January 4th at Mount Feake Cemetery in Waltham, MA. There are no calling hours. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements
