CHESHIRE - Roy Ingerson, 77, passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at Masonicare Health Center in Wallingford. He was the loving and devoted husband of Marilyn (McHugh) Ingerson, to whom he was married for 54 years.

Mr. Ingerson was born August 1, 1938 in Lancaster, NH, the son of the late Clifford A. and Mary Anna (Beaudoin) Ingerson Sr.

Roy was a veteran, honorably served in the U.S. Army's 3rd Infantry Regiment (1st Battalion), and commonly referred to as the "Old Guard", the official U.S. Honor Guard unit and escort to the President. He served two tours during the Korean War and Cuban Missile Crisis. He was an owner and operator of Ingerson Crane Service and Brass City Warehouse for many years. He was a member of the Operating Engineering Union Local 478. Roy had a lifelong passion for golf and bowling, which included sponsor of many local leagues. He was a devoted UConn Basketball Fan.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his children Lorraine Nelson and her husband Phillip of NJ, Ann Nemphos and her husband James of Cheshire, Roy Ingerson Jr. and his wife Jessica of Canton, and Karen Miele of Cheshire; his siblings Maureen Sullivan, Nancy Hall, James, Clifford Jr., Rowland; his nine grandchildren Keith, Alexis, Charlie, Ryan, Zachary, Nicholas, Elizabeth, Emma, and Olivia. He is predeceased by his son, James Ingerson; his daughter, Susan Ingerson; and his sister, Martha Briggs.

Arrangements - Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 1, 2016 at 10 a.m. at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main Street. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Bridget Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 3 - 5 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Disable American Veterans, 35 Cold Spring Rd., Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
