Rosemary Mensching

CHESHIRE – Rosemary Mensching, 92, passed peacefully into heaven on Monday, March 23, 2020 at Marbridge Retirement Center in Cheshire, CT surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late William J. Mensching of Baldwin, NY.

Rosemary was born April 14, 1927, in Brooklyn, NY. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Marion (Desmond) Clifford, and the loving sister of Joan (Percy), Thomas (Joan), and Richard. She was a communicant and a long-time parishioner of St. Christopher’s Church in Baldwin, NY. Since moving to Cheshire in 2018 she was a communicant of St. Bridget of Sweden parish.

Rosemary graduated from Oceanside HS on Long Island and while she worked various jobs throughout her life, her greatest role and vocation was her devotion to her family and her faith. She and Bill instilled that faith in their children and grandchildren and she constantly reminded us all of how blessed we are. Rosemary is survived by her children Marilyn Sandroni (Pete) of Baldwin, NY; William Mensching (Laurie) of Brooklyn, NY; Margaret Higgins (John) of Cheshire, CT; Peter Mensching (Kim) of Medford, NJ; Terry Maloney (Rich) of Breezy Point, NY; her 15 grandchildren and her 4 great grandchildren. Besides her husband, Rosemary is predeceased by her daughter Linda.

Rosemary’s family would like to extend their deepest and most heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Marbridge Retirement Center. These amazing people gave her kind and loving care that brought peace and love to her in her final days. “You’re the best.”
