CHESHIRE - Ronald John Chabot, 72, passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at the VITAS unit at St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury after a brief illness.
Ron was born January 26, 1944 in Waterbury, the son of the late Honorius and Olga (Pekrul) Chabot. He was educated in Waterbury and Cheshire schools and attended New Haven College. Prior to his retirement in 2004, he was employed by the Hartford for 36 years.
Ron was a member of St. Thomas Becket Church as well as a member of the German-American Society of Bristol. He was an avid fisherman and fan of the Boston Red Sox, Green Bay Packers and the UCONN women's basketball team.
He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law Eleanor and Raymond Verner of Cheshire; his nephew Robert W. Verner of IL; his two grandnieces; his aunt Mildred (Joseph) Connelly of Naugatuck; and 41 cousins.
Arrangements – Funeral services and burial are private and will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to VITAS Innovative Hospice Care, 199 Park Rd. Ext., Suite 102, Middlebury, CT 06762. The Alderson-Ford Funeral home is assisting with arrangements.
