Robert Spies

CHESHIRE- Robert W. Spies, 70, passed away Sunday December 23, 2012 at Mercy Suburban Hospital in East Norriton, PA. He was the husband of Eileen (Enright) Spies.

He was born December 13, 1942 in New Haven, son of the late Robert Howard and Clara Marie (Pinaglia) Spies.

Bob was a graduate of West Haven High School and a veteran of the United States Army.

He was a communicant of the Church of the Epiphany where he was an Usher for the 4 P.M Mass, and a volunteer for the Friends Feeding Friends Soup Kitchen in Waterbury.

Bob was a great guy, ask anyone. He was a long-time participant of the PARS study at YNHH for Parkinsons Disease Research. He was an avid golfer, who enjoyed planning events and playing with his long-time friends who shared the same passion for the sport. Along with his love of golf, Bob also enjoyed his monthly poker game

Bob was devoted to his family and actively participated in supporting his children's dreams, helping them to obtain their goals, and paved the path for their successes. He adored his grandchildren and they adored him, they were "buddies". He truly loved his wife of 43 years and was looking forward to celebrating their 44 years of marriage together in April.

Besides his wife, Robert is survived by a daughter Meredith and her husband Claus Albrecht of Conshohocken, PA; a son Justin Spies of King of Prussia, PA; a sister Mary Smeriglio of Guilford; and two grandchildren Lucas Robert, and Spencer Marco Albrecht.

Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Bridget Cemetery, Higgins Road, Cheshire. Calling hours will be held Friday December 28, 2012 from 5 to 8 P.M at the funeral home.
