CHESHIRE- Robert Francis Wecker, 83, passed away Friday September 26, 2014 at the Connecticut Hospice in Branford, CT. He was the loving husband of Susan (Doolan) Wecker to whom he was married for 58 years.
He was born February 21, 1931 in White Plains, NY son of the late Carl and Hazel (Roome) Wecker.
Robert was a graduate of White Plains High School. He served in the United States Air Force, and was a Manager at IBM for over 30 years prior to his retirement.
Besides his wife he is survived by two sons, John and his wife Margaret Wecker of Bellevue, WA and Neal Wecker of Ithaca, NY; a daughter Susan and her husband Paul Sayour of South Kingstown, RI; and his grandchildren, Paul, Katherine and Kelly Wecker, Paul George, Shawn and Paige Sayour, and Shelia Brown. He was predeceased by his two sisters, Jean Thomas and Dorothy Brown.
He was a lifelong fan of the New York Giants and Mets, and enjoyed golfing.
Arrangements- Robert’s funeral will be held 9:15 A.M Wednesday October 1, 2014 from The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main St, 06410 and proceed to St. Thomas Becket Church, 435 North Brooksvale Road, Cheshire, 06410 for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Route 100, Greenburgh, NY. Calling hours will be held Tuesday September 30, 2014 from 4 to 7 P.M. at the funeral home. Donations in his name may be made to New England Organ Bank, 60 1st. Ave, Waltham, MA 02451.
