MERIDEN- Patricia G. Wessenberg, 98, went to be with her lord on Sunday March 11, 2012 at the Curtis Home in Meriden. She was the wife of the late Howard W. Wessenberg Sr.

She was born on July 19, 1913 in Hartford, daughter of the late Andrew P. Gunn and Martha Demanske of West Hartford. She graduated from William Hall High School and Saint Joseph College. After college, she was employed by the Travelers Insurance Company. Pat met her husband, Howard in 1940. Howard was called to active duty in 1941 and was stationed in Seattle, WA. Pat made the cross country train trip and they were married in 1941.

After Howard's discharge they settled down in Newington to begin a family. They also lived in Cheshire, and Moorestown, NJ. Howard passed away in 1976 and Pat moved back to Cheshire. She had been a resident of the Curtis Home for the past eight years.

Pat had many interests including being a 70 year member of the Association of Women's Clubs.

She was president from 1980-1982. She was also a member of the Cheshire Garden Club and took much pleasure in her flower gardens. She was famous for her homemade relish. Pat volunteered in many areas over her life and cared deeply about her neighbors and friends and especially her family.

Patricia was predeceased by her husband Howard, her parents, a sister Eleanor Anderson, her triplet brothers Andrew, Edward, and Francis, and a nephew Ted Anderson.

Patricia is survived by a son Bill and his wife Claire Wessenberg of Casco, ME; a grandson Michael and his wife Felicia Wessenberg of Medway, MA; a granddaughter Suzanne and her husband Peter Corcoran of Duxbury, MA; and five great grandchildren, Matt and Megan Wessenberg, Kevin, Allie, and Ryan Corcoran.

Arrangements- Patricia's funeral will be held 10:15 A.M Tuesday March 13, 2012 from The Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main St, 06410 to St. Bridget Church, 175 Main Street, Cheshire, 06410 for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 A.M. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery, 817 Old Colony Road, Meriden, 06451. Calling hours will be held Tuesday morning from 9:30 A.M at the funeral home until the precession leaves for church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Cheshire Women's Scholarship Fund c/o Rosemary Noble, 152 Payne Dr., Cheshire, CT 06410.
