Michael Rathburn

NAUGATUCK-Mr. Michael David Rathburn, 66 of Clark Rd., Naugatuck, died Monday Feb. 22, 2010 at his home.

Mr. Rathburn was born in Waterbury, Mar. 21, 1943, a son of the late Jane (Hurley) Rathburn and was a graduate of Crosby High School, Class of 1961. He received his Bachelors degree from Western Conn. State University and his Masters degree from Southern Conn. State University. He retired as an educator with the Bridgeport school system, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church and a member of the National Rifle Assoc.

He leaves two sisters, Kathleen J. Morello of Naugatuck, and Mary Margaret Valdez of Northfield and several nieces and nephews and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday Feb. 26th at 11 am at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church St. Friends are asked to meet directly at the church prior to mass. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery, Naugatuck. There are no calling hours. The Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. is in charge of arrangement. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Crusader Post # 1946, Veterans of Foreign Wars, 239 Rubber Ave., Naugatuck, 06770
