Mary McKevitt

HARWICHPORT, MA– Mary McKevitt, 86, passed away Thursday December 25, 2014 at Masonic Healthcare Center in Wallingford, CT. She was the wife of the late Lawrence McKevitt Sr.

Mary was born November 18, 1928 in Boston, MA the daughter of the late Hugh P. and Catherine (Murray) Byrne. Raised in Dorchester, Mary lived in Scituate, MA, Wyckoff, NJ, Paxton, MA, Cheshire and Madison, CT and retired to Harwichport in 1997 with her husband. She was an active communicant of Holy Trinity Church, member of Allen Harbor Yacht Club, an avid bridge player, enjoyed her tennis, the Harwich Garden Club and The Family Pantry.

Mary was the consumate mother and grandmother - doting on her young ones was her passion. She is survived by her son Lawrence McKevitt Jr. and his wife Helen of Cheshire, CT ; her daughter Mary “Beth” Pye and her husband Andrew of Chester, CT; as well as her grandchildren Cecilia, Conor, Cassie, R.J. and Drew.

Arrangements - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday December 29, 2014 10:00 am at Holy Trinity Church, 246 Route 28, West Harwich, MA. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Saturday December 27, 2014 from 2-4 p.m. at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 S. Main St. Cheshire, CT.
