Martha Bailey

Cheshire - Martha M. Bailey, 86, formerly of Peck Lane, passed away Tuesday evening at Mid-state Medical Center in Meriden. She was the wife of the late Robert G. Bailey.

Mrs. Bailey was born October 14, 1922 in Cheshire the daughter of the late Matthew and Mary (Duff) Bowman. She was a life long Cheshire resident and worked at R.W. Hine Hardware, White-Bowman Plumbing as well as Scovill Manufacturing. She was also a communicant of St. Bridget Church.

Mrs. Bailey is survived by her son Thomas Bailey of Cheshire; her daughters Elizabeth of Bethany and Mary Ellen of North Haven; her brother Ed Bowman of Cheshire; her sister Margaret 'Peggy' Cook; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Bailey is predeceased by her son Robert and her sister Mary Rochford.

Arrangements - Funeral services will be held on Thursday September 24, 2009 10:15 from the Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 S. Main St. to St. Bridget Church for Mass at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Bridget Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Thursday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral procession leaves for church.
