Marion C. (Libolt) Washburn

Marion C. (Libolt) Washburn, age 92, of Cheshire passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at her home in Cheshire with her loving family by her side. She was the devoted wife of the late Frank Washburn. Marion was born on June 21, 1923 in New Haven, daughter of the late Charles and Katherine (Keegan) Caley.

Marion will be remembered for all she gave of herself to the Elim Park community. She was the foundress of the Village Store, Marion’s Marketplace, the Tag Sale Room and the Benevolent Fund. She was driven to bring activities and conveniences to the residents at Elim Park, all of which they enjoy today.

Marion is survived by her cherished niece, Anne Marie Peach of North Haven; her stepson William Washburn of Kerrville, TX and several loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, William Libolt; her brother, Charles F. Caley, Jr. and her sister, Dorothea C. Peach.

Services for Marion will be private and at the convenience of her family. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire has been entrusted with her arrangements.
