Marilyn L. French

Marilyn L. French, age 85, of Ellenton, FL and formerly Scituate, MA entered into rest on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at the Blake Medical Center in Bradenton, FL. She was the devoted wife of the late Walter H. “Wally” French. Marilyn was born on April 11, 1930, in Hingham, MA daughter of the late Arthur E. and Gertrude (Johnson) Lincoln.

Marilyn lived a wonderful life together with her late husband Wally, at Colony Cove, where the warmth, light and community made them both very happy. Marilyn loved to laugh, she loved to spend time with family and friends, she loved to sing, especially in harmony with Wally as he played his piano. Marilyn had many wonderful and generous friends whom she cherished. She enjoyed playing cards with her Pinocle Club every Monday evening. She loved crafts, particularly pottery and cross stitch. And every summer Marilyn looked forward to spending with family up north, part of the time in Connecticut with her children, the rest of the summer with her sister Dot, and well-loved nieces Cheryl and Sally in Scituate.

She is the beloved mother of Janice Yusza and her husband Richard of Cheshire, CT; Nancy J. O’Neill of Warwick, RI and James L. O’Neill; loving grandmother of Jamie Shaw and her husband William of Braintree, MA. She is also survived by her cherished great grandchildren William, Stephanie and Richard; and sister, Dorothy E. Bearce of Ellenton, FL and formerly Scituate, MA. Marilyn was predeceased by her first husband, Paul F. O’Neill and her brother in law, Charles E. Bearce.

A Funeral Service for Marilyn will be held on June 6, 2015 at 1PM at the First Trinitarian Congregational Church, 381 Country Way, Scituate, MA. Burial of Ashes will follow at the Union Cemetery on Stockbridge Road and Meeting House Lane, Scituate. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home in Cheshire, CT is assisting the family with the arrangements. At the request of the family, memorial contributions may be made to American Lung Association.
