Naugatuck – Maria de Lourdes Fernandes de Sousa Lamas, 97, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, February 25, 2021.
Ms. Lamas was born February 22, 1924, in Soutelinho, Portugal, the daughter of the later Antonio and Ana (Fernandes) de Sousa.
Ms. Lamas is survived by her sons Tony Lamas and Wilson Lamas both of Naugatuck; her sisters Esmeralda Gomes, Salette Sousa, and the late Domingos Sousa, Maria Relvas, Laurentino Moreno, Antonio Sousa; her grandchildren Angela Lamas and Kendra Lamas; her great grandchildren Breanna Delgrosso and Angelina Gregory.
Maria was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She had a heart of gold accompanied by a beautiful soul. She was inspiring, kind and strong willed. She will be greatly missed.
Arrangements – Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family and there are no calling hours. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck is assisting with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Fatima Church, 2071 Baldwin St., Waterbury, CT 06706.
