Maria L. Masella

Cheshire - Lucia Maria Masella, age 94, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 7, 2017 at The Hospital of Central Connecticut, surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Orlando Masella.

Mrs. Masella was born on December 13, 1922, in Gioia Sannitica (Province of Caserta), Italy, the daughter of the late Dominico and Pasquelina (Silvestre) Fetta. She resided in Cheshire with her son Michael and wife Sherry, and grandchildren Laura, Amanda and Stephanie at the time of her passing.

She had a passion for her garden, baking “Nonni’s bread”, Italian cooking, and taking care of her grandchildren.

Mrs. Masella is survived by her six sons, Louis and partner Lucille, Mario and wife Lidia, Dominico and wife Linda, Michael and wife Sherry, John and wife Sharon, and Charles and wife Annmarie, and her daughter, Madelena and husband Michael. She will also be deeply missed by her 16 grandchildren and her 15 great-grandchildren.

Arrangements - Mrs. Masella’s funeral procession will leave the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home, 615 So. Main St., Cheshire, at 9:15 a.m. on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 for a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Bridget Church, Cheshire at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hamden. Calling hours for Mrs. Masella will be on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association at www.act.alz.org.
