Loretta V. "Ronnie" Mulville Sparso, age 75, of Waterbury entered into rest on Sunday, November 20, 2011 at St. Mary's Hospital. She was the devoted wife of the late Michael J. Sparso.

Ronnie was born in Waterbury on September 9, 1936, daughter of the late Joseph F. and Loretta (Farrell) Mulville and was a lifelong Waterbury resident.

She was a graduate of St. Mary School, Crosby High School and Marymount College in Tarrytown, NY. Ronnie, a dedicated educator, began her teaching career at Driggs School for a year. After raising her family, she continued her career at St. Mary School from 1978 to 2011.

After the death of her husband, Michael in 1984 she became president of the Mulville Funeral Home, a business she ran until 1997. Ronnie was a charter member of the Wolcott Junior Women's Club and past president of the St. Pius X Church Ladies Club in Wolcott.

An avid sports fan, Ronnie coached the St. Mary School girls' basketball and softball teams for over 20 years. She was a member of the St. Mary Board and Sports Club and was a Eucharistic Minister at the school. She was a communicant of the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception and was on the parish council.

Most notably, Ronnie loved her family and cherished spending time with her grandchildren.

Ronnie is the loving mother of Michael J. Sparso, Jr. and his wife, Laura, J. Gregory Sparso and his wife, Chris, Joseph M. Sparso and Deborah T. Sparso. She also leaves five cherished grandchildren, Amanda, Mike, Michael, Nicky and Anthony, as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her best friend and sister, Patricia M. Raneri.

Friends may call on Wednesday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Mulville Funeral Home, 270 West Main St., Waterbury. On Friday, November 25th, friends and family are requested to go directly to the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception where a Mass of Christain Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Watertown.
