L. Jean Asmus

Southington - L. Jean Asmus, 91, passed away on Friday, December 25, 2020, at MidState Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Herman C. Asmus.

Mrs. Asmus was born April 29, 1929, in New Haven, the daughter of the late David and Margaret (Cooper) Hirsch. She was an active part of her children’s lives serving as a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader as well as serving on the PTA. She worked as a Cafeteria Worker for over 38 years at Highland School, retiring in 2009. She loved Bingo, Bowling, camping with her family and trips to the casinos as well as attending shows and concerts.

Mrs. Asmus is survived by her daughters Laurene Asmus and Claudia Baron and her husband Keith; and her grandchildren Kyle and Dylan Baron all of Cheshire. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by her brother Robert Hirsch.

Arrangements – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2020, at 11:00 AM at St. Bridget of Sweden Parish-St. Bridget Church, Cheshire. Friends are asked to meet directly at church. Burial will follow in Cheshire Hillside Cemetery. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire is assisting with arrangements.
