Cheshire - Kenneth M. Barton, 73, passed away on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Virginia (Cogle) Barton.
Mr. Barton was born in Claremont, New Hampshire on February 17, 1944, a son of the late Edwin and Evelyn (Smith) Barton. From 1962 through 1966, Kenneth proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was a retired machinist, employed by several local manufacturing companies. Kenneth also served, for many years, as a Cheshire volunteer fire fighter.
In addition to his wife, Virginia, Kenneth is survived by his sons, Michael, and his wife, Denise, of Cheshire, Steven, of Southington, and Keith Barton, of Cheshire, and his daughters, Robin Adkins, and her husband, David, of Cheshire, Kerry Barton of Cheshire, and a brother, Carlton Barton and his wife Cheryl of New Hampshire. He will also be missed by his twelve grandchildren and his ten great-grandchildren.
Services for Mr. Barton will be private and burial will be at the convenience of his family. There are no calling hours and The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home, 615 South Main Street, Cheshire, Ct. has been entrusted with his arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675-8517.
