CHESHIRE- Kathleen Ann (Mordente) Solli, 60, passed away, Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford after a prolonged, three year and seven month battle with breast cancer. She was the wife of Arne B. Solli.

Kathleen was born on March 20, 1950 in New Haven, and was the daughter of the late Dr. Giacomo and Josephine (Esposito) Mordente of East Haven.

Kathleen was a graduate of St. Mary's High School in New Haven, and received an Associates Degree in early childhood development from Harcum Junior College in Pennsylvania.

Kathleen was a long time resident of Cheshire and worked as a Special Education Secretary in the Cheshire Public School system for over twenty years, the last thirteen years at Doolittle Elementary School. She was a former President of the Meriden Jaycee Women, and the Meriden Jaycees, and was nationally recognized as an outstanding local chapter president. In addition, she was honored as a Connecticut Jaycee Statesmen, United States Jaycee Ambassador, and Jaycee International Senator.

Besides her husband, Kathleen is survived by a son Kevin Solli of New Haven; a daughter Kristina and her husband Andre Veilleux of New Haven; three brothers Giacomo III and his wife Linda Mordente of Branford, Richard and his wife Carlene Mordente of West Haven, and Robert and his wife Gloria Mordente of New Milford; a sister Jody and her husband Bob King of Miami; a granddaughter Molli Veilleux and many nieces and nephews.

Arrangements- Kathleen's funeral will be held Saturday June 5, 2010, 10 A.M from The Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main Street, to St. Bridget's Church for A Mass of Christian Burial at 11 A.M. Burial will follow in St. Bridget's Cemetery, Cheshire. Calling hours will be held Friday June 4, 2010 from 4 to 7 P.M at the funeral home.
