June Chepurna
June (Smith) Chepurna, 82, of 245 Cherry Ave F-21, Watertown passed away Monday, February 09, 2009 at Waterbury Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband Albert Chepurna.
June was born January 30, 1927 in Waterbury and was the daughter of the late Austin and Ethel (Waldorf) Smith. June was a graduate of Wilby High School after graduating she was employed at SNET until her retirement in 1987.
June was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, the Altrusa Club, and the Watertown Library Association.
The family would like to thank the staff of Waterbury Hospital and Waterbury Extended Care, for there support and care.
June is survived by her three sons Donald and his wife Janet Chepurna of Waterbury, Robert and his wife Virginia Chepurna of Waterbury, and Ronald Chepurna of Thomaston, a daughter Jean and her husband Richard Ellis of Groton, CT, a brother Austin J. and his wife Doris Smith of Beacon Falls, five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two nieces, and her friends from Highgate and SNET. She was predeceased by a brother Leroy C. Smith of El Paso, TX.
Arrangements- Funeral Services are private. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. The Alderson Funeral Home of Waterbury is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations in June's name may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
