NORTH BRANFORD- Joshua A. Holquist, 49, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, February 28, 2016 at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was the husband of Martha (Kenney) Holquist whom he was married to for five years.
Josh was born December 12, 1967 in New Haven son of James Holquist and Lydia Landis.
Josh was a graduate of Fairfield University where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. He was a veteran of the United States Army where he received numerous achievement medals including the National Defense Service Medal, and was a Registered Nurse at Maplewoods Assisted Living at the time of his passing.
Besides his wife and parents he is survived by his four brothers Peter and his wife Diana Holquist of Bala Cynwyd, PA, Benjamin and his wife Carol Holquist of Ellicott City, MD, Nicholas and his wife Sara Holquist of Montpelier, VT, and Sebastian Holquist of Hamden, CT; and several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements- Calling hours for Joshua will be held Thursday March 3, 2016 from 5 to 8 P.M at The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main St, 06410. Burial with full Military Honors will be held 10 A.M Saturday, March 5, 2016 at the State Veterans Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, Middletown, 06457. Donations in his name may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, 150 Cambridge Park Drive, Suite 202, Cambridge, Massachusetts 02140.
