WATERBURY- John “Jack” J. Sexton Jr., 80, passed away Sunday, February 12, 2017 at the Cheshire House. He was the loving husband of Louise (Nelson) Sexton, whom he was married to for 54 years.

Mr. Sexton was born September 26, 1936 in Waterbury son of the late John and Elizabeth (Dunn) Sexton, and stepmother Marie Sexton.

Jack proudly served in the United States Army. He was a Carpenter with the Park City Builders/ Carpenter Union Local 24 prior to his retirement. He was the acting Treasurer of the Pine Grove Cemetery at the time of his passing. Mr. Sexton was a member of Harmony Lodge No 42 A.F & A.M, Ansantawac Encampment No. 20, the Zindah Grotto, Lafayette Consistory S.P.R.S, and Nosahogan Lodge No.21 Independent Order of OddFellows.

Besides his wife Jack is survived by his son Michael and his wife Cheryl Sexton of Watertown; three daughters Cheryl and her husband David Sharkis of Waterbury, Joyce and her husband Richard Gelinas of Jacksonville, FL, and Barbara and her husband David Segal of Waterbury; and four grandchildren Melissa, Steven, Daniel, and Brandon; also two step sisters Cecile and her husband Donald Pelletier and Louise and her husband Mac Franciso.

Arrangements- A Private Service and Burial for Mr. Sexton will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Waterbury, 9 Holmes Ave, 06710, is assisting the family with the arrangements. Donations in Jack’s name may be made to Mill Plain Union Church, 242 Southmayd Rd, Waterbury, CT 06705, or the Children’s Dyslexia Center of Connecticut, 529 Highland Ave, Waterbury, CT 06708.
