Cheshire - Janis (MacLellan) Walston, 92, passed away June 1, 0213 at Masonicare Health Center in Wallingford. She was predeceased by the love of her life; her husband of 65 years, Edwin C. Walston.



Born in Detroit, MI, January 18, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Archie P. and Corrinne E. (Parsons) MacLellan. She was a charter member of the Cheshire Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary; a life member of the Order of the Eastern Star; and an avid Mets and Lady Husky fan. She had worked for many years in the Cheshire School system and was known for being a wonderful cook and baker. Mrs. Walston loved playing the piano and loved pets and had a special fondness for cats. She loved her family and was especially proud of her granddaughters and great grandsons.



Mrs. Walston is survived by her son Edwin D. Walston and his wife Charlan of Cheshire; her daughter Barbara J. Meyers and her husband Robert of Winsted; three grandchildren Eileen Schmucker and her husband Todd, Diane Hart, and Victoria Spencer; three great grandchildren Ethan, Aaron and Ean; her brother Donald MacLellan; her sister-in-laws Agnes and Shirley King; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Beatrice Harris and her brother William MacLellan.



Arrangements - A graveside service will be held on Wednesday June 5, 2013 at 1 p.m. at Cheshire Hillside Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Cheshire United Methodist Church, 205 Academy Rd. Cheshire, CT 06410 or to the Cheshire Fire Department, 250 Maple Ave., Cheshire, CT 06410. The Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 S. Main St. is assisting with arrangements.
