James Salvatore

Cheshire - James A. Salvatore, 84 , formerly of West Main St., passed away Thursday April 16, 2009 at the Highlands Health Care Center. He was the husband of the late Jean (Dorr) Salvatore.

Mr. Salvatore was born February 6, 1925 in Waterbury the son of the late Michael and Pauline (Jacaruso) Salvatore. He was a long time resident of Cheshire spending his summers with his wife in Port Charlotte, FL. He was a WWII Army veteran and member of the V.F.W. He enjoyed spending time at the horse and dog tracks as well as gardening and working in his yard.

Mr. Salvatore's family would like to thank the staff of the Highlands Health Care Center for all of the care and support.

Mr. Salvatore is survived by his son James R. Salvatore of Middletown; his daughter Robin L. Schlander of Farmington; a sister Florence Lombardo of Cheshire; and his grandson Michael. He is predeceased by his brother Frank Salvatore and his sister Mary Pivirotto.

Arrangements - Funeral services will be held on Wednesday April 22, 2009 at 2 p.m. at the Slater Funeral Home, 242 South Main St., Cheshire. Burial will follow in Cheshire Hillside Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday at the funeral home from 12 p.m. until the time of the service. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Resource Center, 1261 S.
