James Robert DiGangi

NEW HAVEN- James Robert DiGangi, 33, formerly of Cheshire, passed away unexpectedly Friday, October 25, 2019 at Yale New Haven Hospital.

Mr. DiGangi was born November 1, 1985 in New London.

He was a graduate of Westerly High School, Westerly, RI, and was attending Porter and Chester Institute at the time of his passing.

James was a chef in the restaurant industry most of his career.

Mr. DiGangi is survived by his loving parents Linda D. Ehrenfels and step father Eric Ehrenfels. He is also survived by his father Paul J. DiGangi

Besides his parents, he is survived by his brother Peter S. DiGangi of New Haven; and his sister Diana L. DiGangi of Wallingford. He is also survived by countless aunts, uncles, and cousins in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Mexico.

James was an animal lover, dogs especially, he had rescued many dogs throughout his life. James also enjoyed fishing whenever he had the opportunity. He also often hiked with friends at Sleeping Giant and other state parks. Above all James enjoyed large family gatherings and he would often help cook for the family. He will be dearly missed by those who were close to him.

Calling hours for James will be held 9:30 A.M to 11:15 A.M, Saturday, November 2, 2019 at The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main St, 06410. Mr. DiGangi’s funeral procession will leave the funeral home 11:30 A.M and proceed to St. Bridget Church/ St. Bridget of Sweden Parish for a funeral mass at 12:00 P.M. Burial will be held privately at a later date. Donations in his name can made to The Humane Society of the United States, 1255 23rd Street NW, Suite 450, Washington, DC 20037.
