James Mantz

WOLCOTT- James E. Mantz, 80, passed away peacefully Sunday, December 30, 2012 with his loving family by his side. He was the husband of Evelyn V. (Piratzky) Mantz.

James was born May 7, 1932 to the Late James P. and Margaret (Ficken) Mantz of Jamaica, Long Island,

New York.

For twenty eight years, James owned and operated the Carvel on the corner of Wolcott and Lakewood Road in Waterbury and he also was purchasing and supply manager of Scott Pools in Woodbury. He was a Past Potentate of the Sphinx Temple, a Past Master of Liberty-Continental Masonic Lodge No. 76 and Past Master of Wolcott Masonic Lodge No.146. James was also a member of the Scottish Rite, Kaaban's Club, Royal Order of Jesters, and the Elks Club of Waterbury.

Besides his loving wife of 56 years Evelyn, James is survived by his five sons; Scott and his wife Sue of

Bethlehem, Donald and his wife Laurene of Wolcott, Greg and his wife Darlene of Torrington, David

and his wife Mary Ellen of Wolcott and James and his wife Debbie of North Bay, New York. Daughters;

Lorraine E. Stevens and her husband Gary of Guilford, and Debra Mantz of North Kingston, Rhode Island.

A sister; Marilyn Borwegen and her husband Bruce. James also leaves several grandchildren Stephen,

Seth, Amy, Donald Jr. (DJ)His wife Jess, Josh, Jessica her husband Ben, Erica, Jason, Julie, and David. James also leaves multiple nieces

and nephews and five great grandchildren.

Arrangements- Calling hours for James will be held at the Alderson Funeral Home, 9 Holmes Ave.

Waterbury, Friday, January 4, 2012, 4pm-8pm. Masonic services will be held at 7PM. A memorial

service will be held Saturday, January 5, 2012, at the First Lutheran Church, 88 Cooke St. Waterbury

06710. Friends are asked to meet at the Church at 11am. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
