Mrs. Irma E. (Bonafe) Barrieau, 62 of Waterbury passed away Monday February 2, 2010 at Waterbury Hospital. She was the widow of William R. Barrieau, Sr.
Irma was born May 14, 1947 in New York City a daughter of the late Rene J. and Julia J. (Ruccio) Bonafe and was a longtime Wolcott resident. She attended Sacred Heart High School in Yonkers, NY and was a graduate of Cheshire High School. She was a well known area realtor retiring after many years of service.
She leaves her daughter Renee J. Barrieau of Waterbury, her son, William R. Barrieau and his wife Bridget of Wolcott, her sister, Virginia Growchowski of Waterbury, her grandchildren, Julia Rose Barrieau, Brittany DiTota and Jason DiTota and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Irma will be held at the convenience of her family. There are no calling hours. The Alderson Funeral Home of Waterbury 9 Holmes Avenue has care of arrangements. If desired memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society P.O. Box 1004 Meriden, CT. 06450 or to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society Connecticut Chapter 659 Tower Avenue First Floor Hartford, CT. 06112-1269.
