WATERBURY- Irene Parry Gross, 100, passed away quietly at her home surrounded by her loving family on May 9, 2020. She was the widow of John Parry and Frank Gross.
Irene was born August 15, 1919 in Manchester, NH. She was the daughter of the late Andrew and Ana (Aagaard) Conda.
Irene was a graduate of Wilby High School, Class of 1937. She worked as an assistant manager at the Banking Center for many years as well as at the Girls Club of Waterbury. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, a volunteer at Waterbury Hospital, and a driver for the American Cancer Society. Irene’s greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends.
Irene is survived by her children Susan Makarewich and her husband Charles, John Parry and his wife Debbie, Wendy Parry and her partner Carla, her brother Andrew Conda, five grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Waterbury, 496 Chase Ave, 06704 is assisting the family with the arrangements. To honor Irene’s love of children, donations in her name may be made to The Greater Waterbury’s Campership Fund, 389 Meadow Street, Waterbury, CT 06722.
