WALLINGFORD- Ingrid S. Roggenstein, 86, passed away Saturday, November 3, 2018 surrounded by her loving family at Masonicare in Wallingford. She was the widow of Manfred Roggenstein who predeceased her in 1994 after 36 years of marriage.

Mrs. Roggenstein was born June 20, 1932 in Marienstein, Germany. She worked at Pepperidge Farm and at MBI Retail Products, both in Norwalk, prior to her retirement in 2003.

Ingrid was a long time parishioner of St. Thomas the Apostle church in Norwalk. In her free time Ingrid loved the outdoors, gardening, cooking, baking, reading and travelling. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her son Peter and his wife Mary Roggenstein of Cheshire; two daughters Eva Roggenstein and her husband Steve Neupauer of England, and Angela and her husband William Cotton of Cheshire; a sister Luitgard Öttl of Germany; and her grandchildren Derek and Sophie Neupauer, Joseph and Thomas Cotton, and Sean, Colin, and Katrina Roggenstein, along with several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements- A Mass of Christian burial for Mrs. Roggenstein will be held 10 A.M, Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at St. Bridget Church, 175 Main St, Cheshire, 06410. Family and friends are asked to meet directly at church. Burial will follow in in St. John’s Cemetery, 223 Richards Ave, Norwalk, 06850. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main St, 06410, is assisting the family with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name can be made to The Nature Conservancy Attn: Treasury, 4245 N. Fairfax Drive, Suite 100 Arlington, VA 22203.
