Gertrude "Trudy" Grant

Cheshire - Gertrude P. “Trudy” Grant, 74, formerly of Waterbury and Oakville, passed away on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at Mid-State Medical Center.

Trudy Grant was born January 31, 1947, in Waterbury, the daughter of the late Milan and Pauline (Byron) Grant. She enjoyed gardening, painting and vacationing with her sisters Rose and Susan. She was also an avid UCONN Girls Basketball fan.
Trudy is survived by her siblings Rose Yezierski, Allison DeSorbo (John), Susan Ryan (Michael), Delores "Tippy" Sconziano, Milan Grant (Carol), Alan Grant Sr.; her sisters-in-laws Eileen and Lisa Grant; as well as many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews and friends.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her siblings Joann Fassio, Richard Ricciardi Sr., Alpi “Bitsy” Ricciardi, Thomas W. Grant Sr., and Paul T. Grant.

Arrangements – Visitation for Trudy will be held on Thursday September 2, 2021 from 4 to 7 pm at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Waterbury, 496 Chase Ave. On Friday Trudy’s funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:30 and proceed to the Waterbury Bible Church, 240 Dwight St. for services at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at New Pine Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Connecticut Humane Society, 701 Russell Rd., Newington, CT 06111.
