CHESHIRE – It is with great sadness that the family of Frederick Adams, 88, announce his passing on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at his home where he was surrounded by his children. He was the husband, constant companion and partner in life, love and laughter of Mildred (Setterstrom) Adams.

Mr. Adams was born on October 25, 1928 in Worcester, MA. He is the son of Carlton Adams and Sadie Myers. He served his country in World War II as a Military Police Officer during the Tokyo War Crimes Trials. He obtained his undergraduate degree from Southern CT State University and his Master’s degree from UCONN; after which he enjoyed a long career as an advocate for people with special needs and a pioneer in the field of Special Education until his retirement from the State of Connecticut in March of 1992. He spent his youth in Worcester, MA before moving his family to Cheshire in the early 1970s.

Besides his devoted wife of 61 years, Mr. Adams he will be forever remembered by his children Bernice Kozloski and her companion Mark Wilson of Agawam, MA, Maryann Adams of Cheshire, Michael Adams and his wife Sheila of Cheshire, John Adams and his wife Karen of Cheshire, and Kathleen Adams of Yalesville; Mr. Adams was also the loving Grandfather of Matthew Kozloski, Amanda Distasio, Jessica Adams, Ryan Adams, Christopher Adams , Paul LaRoche III and Kyle LaRoche as well as two great grandchildren, Marli and Logan Distasio. He will be fondly remembered by countless people whose lives he touched throughout the years. Along with his parents and siblings Mr. Adams has been reunited with his predeceased son, Christopher Adams.

Arrangements – Funeral services will be held on Monday November 28, 2016, 10 a.m. from the Alderson-Ford Funeral home of Cheshire, 615 S. Main St., to Church of the Epiphany for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Cheshire Hillside Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
