Faith Metcalfe Andrade

PLANTSVILLE – Faith (Knowles) Andrade, 95, passed away peacefully at her home with her daughters present on Wednesday, May 23, 2018. She is the wife of the late Manuel “Andy” Andrade who passed away in 2001.

Faith was born January 7, 1923 in San Francisco, CA, the daughter of the late Harris and Margaretta (Darling) Knowles. She worked many years for Pratt and Whitney and was a longtime resident of Southington and Plantsville residing in the same home for over 55 years. She loved her family and spending time at the YMCA. She shared her love of reading at the Southington Library where she volunteered until the age of 94.

Faith will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Deborah Goodnough and her husband Marc Langelier of Guildford, Doreen Goodnough and her husband James Houck of Manchester; her extended Hinckley family; her step-daughter Lora Shepherd and her husband Bill of The Villages, FL; her step-son-in-law Mac Segar of Osprey, FL; her two granddaughters; three step-grandsons; one step-granddaughter; and seven great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her step-daughter Joanne Segar.

In accordance with Faith’s wishes, the family will celebrate her life as she lived it – quietly, privately and with grace. Please, no flowers. Memorial donations may be made to Hartford Healthcare Hospice, the Southington Library or a charitable organization of choice. The Alderson-Ford Funeral home of Cheshire is assisting with arrangements.
