HAMDEN- Eleanor B. Crary, 96, formerly of Waterbury passed away Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford.
She was born November 5, 1920 in Waterbury daughter of the late John H. and Mary J. (Degnan) Crary.
Ms. Crary was a graduate of both Sacred Heart Grammar and High School, and the Perry Business School where she received her college degree. She was employed as an Administrative Assistant to the Director of the Parks Department in the City of New Haven from 1971 through 1999. Upon her retirement, she became a volunteer at Yale New Haven Hospital. She was also a longtime member of the New Haven Catholic Council of Women.
Eleanor is survived by her close friend Donna Ferrucci and fiancé Robert Burrell of New Haven; her great nephew Christopher and his wife Gail Griffin of Wethersfield, great niece Janice Glick and her husband Robert Glick of Southington, cousins and many devoted friends.
Arrangements- Calling hours for Ms. Crary will be held 9 A.M Monday, November 14, 2016 at The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Waterbury, 270 West Main St, 06702 until the procession leaves for a 11 A.M Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Church, 13 Wolcott St, Waterbury, CT 06702. Burial will follow in New St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Donations in her name may be made to Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06492.
