Edward L. Tatro, age 63, of Naugatuck passed away suddenly on Thursday, January 22, 2015. He was the devoted husband of Catherine A. (Hughes) Tatro. Edward was born on October 6, 1951 in Claremont, New Hampshire, son of Theresa (Nadeau) Tatro and the late John Tatro.
Ed worked as a mechanic for many years at Ed’s Auto Parts in New Haven and later worked for Ikea, until his retirement in 2010. In addition to being a loving husband, he was a caring father and an awesome grandpa to his four cherished grandsons.
He is the beloved father of Sarah Gray and her fiancé Andrew Hefferon of Naugatuck; and Rick Gray and his wife Tiffany of Ansonia; revered grandfather of Sylvio Rapuano, Branden Hefferon, Joshua Hefferon and Gunnar Gray. Ed is also survived by his sisters; Rosie DeFeo and her husband Jeff; Claire Plank; and Laura Jeanne Cossette and her husband Joe, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Robert Tatro.
All services for Ed will be private and at the convenience of his family. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck has been entrusted with his arrangements. At the request of his family, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, CT Affiliate, Inc., 2080 Silas Deane Highway, Suite 201, Rocky Hill, CT 06067-3045.
