Edmond R. St. Martin, age 85, “Poet, Punster and Singer” of Cheshire entered into rest on Sunday, January 29, 2017 surrounded by his family. He was the devoted husband of Joan (Carey) St. Martin for over 50 years. Edmond was born on November 20, 1931 in Waterbury, son of the late Wilfred and Dora (Payeur) St. Martin.

Ed served his country with honor and pride with the US Airforce and was greatly involved with veteran services and organizations in Cheshire, leading the Memorial Day Parade for several years, even as he began losing his eyesight. He was a prominent member of the Army Airforce Roundtable of CT and was a cantor at St. Bridget Church for over 16 years. He was very involved with Cheshire Youth Baseball, serving as coach and umpire and was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. Ed was and amazing father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, he will be missed by all who knew him.

He is the beloved father of Carey St. Martin of Southbury; Gregory St. Martin of Cheshire; Jonathan St. Martin and his wife, Diane of Prospect; Joseph St. Martin and his partner, Anne of Rochester, NY and Edmond J. St. Martin and his wife, Rhonda of Southington. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren; Raymond, Orion, Ben, Nathan and Natasha; and his great grandchild, Bryson. Ed leaves his daughter-in-law, Mary Anne of Cheshire; his dear sister, Lorraine Noonan of Waterbury and his brother-in-law, Tom Carey and his wife, Anne Marie. He was predeceased by his brothers.

Friends may greet his family at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 So. Main St., CT 06410 on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 from 4PM until 7PM. On Wednesday, February 1, 2017, his funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:15AM for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10AM in St. Bridget Church, 175 Main St., Cheshire. Interment with Military Honors will follow in St. Bridget Cemetery, Higgins Rd. At the request of his family, contributions may be made to the Army Airforce Roundtable of CT, AAFRT, c/o Leslie Marinaro, 14 Winged Foot Ct., Cheshire, CT 06410.
