WATERBURY - Edith May Garms, 87, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford. She was the wife of the late Albert M. Garms.

Mrs. Garms was born December 27, 1925 in Waterbury the daughter of the late Andrew and Emma (Becker) Rock. She was a Teacher's Aide for the City of Waterbury for many years. She was a longtime Waterbury resident before moving to Watertown in 1971. She was an active member of the First Lutheran Church in Waterbury where she served with the First Lutheran Daughters. She was an avid golfer.

She is survived by her daughters Janice Stango and her husband Edward of Woodbury and Joy Goldfarb and her husband Robert of Enfield; her brother Robert Rock and wife Evelyn of Watertown; her Grandchildren, Jessica Kraszewski and husband Kristian of Florida., Michael Stango and wife Karie of Watertown, Justin Donofrio and partner Judd Engelbrecht of New York, Laura Silva and husband Edgar of Waterbury, Matthew Donofrio and wife Amy of Florida, and Derek Donofrio of West Hartford, her four Great Grandchildren, Hayden, Porter, Nicholas and Austen, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Marion Crawley.

Arrangements - Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Alderson Funeral Home of Waterbury, 9 Holmes Ave. Burial will be held in Riverside Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday morning at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The First Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 88 Cooke St., Waterbury, Ct.
