WATERTOWN- Diane Rashid, 70, passed away Monday January 28, 2013 at Gaylord Hospital in Wallingford surrounded by her loving family.
She was born June 18, 1942 in Waterbury, daughter of the late Charles and Jean (Samaha) Shater.
Diane was a graduate of Notre Dame Academy and Crosby High School. She was the owner of Jean Samaha Oriental Rugs prior to her retirement.
In her free time she was an avid reader, loved collecting cookbooks, entertaining, spending time with her family, and shopping. Diane was very active with the girl scouts where she served as a Regional Director.
She is survived by a daughter Mona and her husband Randy Abaire of Watertown, CT; a grandson Joseph Abaire; and several cousins.
Arrangements- Diane's funeral will be held 10:15 A.M February 1 , 2013 from the Mulville Funeral Home, 270 West Main St, Waterbury, 06702 to Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, 74 West Main Street, Waterbury, 06702, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 A.M. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Thursday January 31, 2013 from 6 to 8 P.M at the funeral home. Donations in her name may be made to the Watertown Volunteer Fire Department, 935 Main Street, Watertown, 06795.
