CHESHIRE - Dennis Paul Clark, 59, passed away January 16, 2012 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford. He was the husband of Nancy (Oberst) Clark.

Dennis was born May 26, 1952 in Coshocton, OH the son of the late Kenneth and Lillian (Krebs) Clark. In 1974 he graduated from Heidelberg College with a B.S. in Economics and in 1978 obtained his Juris Doctorate from the University of Toledo College of Law. He was a member of both the CT Bar Association as well as the Ohio Bar Association. He was Vice-President of Connecticut Community Bank of Westport.

Dennis was a longtime Cheshire resident where he was extremely involved in the community. He served multiple terms on the Cheshire Board of Education and on the Town Council. He was a member of the Republican Town Committee and served on the Public Safety Commission. He was a member of the Congregational Church and a member of the Masonic Temple Lodge #16 A.F. and A.M. He was an active with the Cheshire Relay for Life serving as a Team Captain for several years.

Besides his wife of 35 years, Dennis is survived by his sons Gregory P. Clark of Sandy Hook and Scott E. Clark of Southbury; his daughter Rachel S. Clark of Cheshire; his siblings Randy Clark of Heber City, UT, Nancy Clark Cox of Dresden, OH, Linda Clark Hostetler of Coshocton, OH and Cathy Clark Lapworth of Alpharetta, GA.

Arrangements - Funeral services will be held on Saturday January 21, 2012 at 10 a.m. at the First Congregational Church of Cheshire, 111 Church Dr. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Cheshire Hillside Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 S. Main St. Memorial contributions may be made to Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405.
