Charles F. Hall

Charles F. Hall, 97, passed away on April 4, 2022 at home after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Ruth (Schramm) Hall.

Mr. Hall was born August 30, 1924 in Waukesha, Wi, the son of the late Charles W. and Elizabeth (Edwards) Hall. Mr. Hall graduated from the University of Missouri with a Bachelors in Business Administration. He was a WWII Army Veteran serving in the Battle of the Bulge, Crossing the Rhine River and Central Europe earning 3 Bronze Stars. He was a member of the American Legion Post 17.

After moving to Naugatuck in 1958 from St. Louis MO, Mr. Hall was an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church serving as an Elder, Treasurer and President. He started the Memorial Endowment Fund and served as Treasurer for many years. He was also very active in the community serving on the Naugatuck Council of Churches where he served as President. He served on the Board of Education from 1969 to 1977 during which time he was Chairman of the School Building Committee. He was also a member of the Republican Town Committee.

In 1990, Mr. Hall retired as Vice President of Trust Investments with Shawmut National Bank, now known as Bank of America.

Mr. Hall is survived by his daughter, Christy Hinesley and husband Steve of Prospect and his three sons, Stephen C. Hall and wife Darlene of Grand Junction, CO, William H. Hall and wife Tammy of Plymouth, MA and Mark D. Hall and wife Valerie of Naugatuck; 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brothers, William and Henry; as well as his sisters, Louise McGinness, Pauline Wilson and Jane North.

The family would like to thank his caregivers Luann Piccirillo, Laura Brady and Mary Jane Mariano for their dedication, care, love and concern for Charlie!

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 350 Millville Ave., Naugatuck, CT 06770. Burial will be held in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Centralia, Illinois at the convenience of the family. Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Memorial Fund at the address above.
