Charles Baltuskonis

Charles J. Baltuskonis 97, passed away at the Masonic Home and Hospital in Wallingford on Thursday August 20,2009 He was the husband of the late Georgiana (Halpine) Baltuskonis.

Charles was born on June 2, 1912 in Torrington, CT. and was the son of the late Ignace and Agnes (Stanislaus) Baltuskonis. He was a WWII Army Veteran serving with Company A, 277th Combat Engineer Battalion. He later worked for the former Torrington Creamery as a milk delivery man and was a member of the Redmen's Association.

Charles is survived by one son Charles G. "Chick" Baltuskonis of Goleta, CA. two daughters Susan and her husband Jack Pasquale of Wallingford and Phyllis and her husband Thomas Buffa of Woodbridge and one sister Alice Bronson of Torrington. Charles is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by 4 brothers Eugene, Adam, Joseph and Stephen Baltuskonis and 1 sister Mary Gallagher.

Relatives and friends are asked to meet at St. Francis of Assisi Church 160 Main St. Torrington on Saturday August 29,2009 at 10:30 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial. There are no calling hours. Burial will be in St. Peters Cemetery in Torrington. The Slater Funeral Home 242 South Main St. Cheshire is in charge of arrangements.
