Naugatuck - Carlton A. Shea, 93, passed away on Saturday, December 25, 2021 at his home. He was the husband of Marianna “Mickie” (Remsberg) Shea.

Mr. Shea was born July 14, 1928, in Waterbury, the son of the late Carlton and Tyra (Anderson) Shea. A lifelong resident of Naugatuck, he graduated from Naugatuck High School and Attended Cheshire Academy. He graduated from Western Maryland College (now McDaniel) in 1951 with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. He volunteered to serve in the U.S. Army and attended Officer Candidate School and graduated as a Second Lieutenant in August of 1952. He served in active duty during the Korean War. After his honorable discharge, he made a career in the insurance field, rising to be the service manager for Transamerica.

Mr. Shea was an avid clock collector and enjoyed bird carving. He was a master craftsman of furniture. He also enjoyed travelling with his wife. He was formerly a member of the Salem Lutheran Church in Naugatuck and was currently a member of the Middlebury Congregational Church.

Besides his wife of 69 years, Mr. Shea is survived by his three children Susan Sundholm of Southbury, Ernest Shea and his wife Karen of Lutherville, MD, and Roberta Kamide of Southbury; his grandchildren Scott, Tyra, Drew, Kathleen, Brian, Eric, Tyler and Caitlin; as well as his 17 great grandchildren.

Arrangements – A private graveside service with military honors will be held in Grove Cemetery at the convenience of the family, and there are no calling hours. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck is assisting with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Middlebury Congregational Church, 1242 Whittemore Rd, Middlebury, CT 06762.
