WATERBURY- Brent E. Westerfield, 53, passed away unexpectedly of Diabetes and Hyperlipidemia related issues in his Waterbury home on May 21, 2014.
He was born January 2, 1961 to the late Billy R. Westerfield and Violet M. Westerfield- Porto. Brent was born, raised, and lived in Florida until 1977 before moving to Connecticut.
Brent was a maintenance worker at Country Manor Health Care Center in Prospect for 16 years until he became disabled and legally blind. He loved to watch Football, Nascar, and Drag Racing, Movies, enjoyed Computer Games, Music, Animals, and Yard Maintenance.
Besides his mother he is survived by his brother Brian R. Westerfield a sister Marilyn D. Westerfield and her fiancé Michael C. Hitchcock; a niece Diana M. Green; all of Naugatuck; niece Kimberly D. Valdes of Miramar, Fl; and his dog Buddy.
Brent's family thanks friends and the neighbors who befriended and helped Brent in times of need and giving Buddy a new home.
Arrangements- Funeral Services for Brent are private. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Grove Cemetery. There are no calling hours. The Alderson- Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St, 06770, is assisting with the arrangements. Donations in his name may be made to The American Diabetes Association, 2080 Silas Deane Hwy, Rocky Hill, CT 06067 or to the Connecticut Winter Assistance Heating Program, 25 Sigourney Street Hartford, CT 06106-5033.
