Mrs. Betty A. (Snyder) Colon, 64, of Waterbury died Sunday July 12, 2009 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Victor A. Colon, Sr.

Mrs. Colon was born October 9, 1944 in Huntingdon, PA a daughter of Andrea (Ojeda) Snyder and the late Richard A. Snyder and has been a Waterbury resident for the past 40 years. She attended schools in Pennsylvania and New York City and was a Customer Service Representative at Comcast. She was an exceptional wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed baking and spending time with her family and friends. She was an extremely loving person who will be missed by all who knew her. Mrs. Colon was a Communicant of Sacred Heart-Sagrado Corazon Parish.

Besides her husband of 49 years and her mother, she leaves her children, Victor A. Colon, Jr. of Beacon Falls and Tracie E. Hernandez of Waterbury, her brother, Stephen Snyder of Texas, her sisters, Jane Negron of Florida, Jacki Snyder of Waterbury and Diane Barnard of Woodbury, her grandchildren Aydan J. Colon and Carlos Jayden Hernandez and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother James Snyder.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Colon will be celebrated Thursday at 9 a.m. at Sacred Heart-Sagrado Corazon Church 13 Wolcott Street in Waterbury. Friends are asked to meet directly at Church. Burial will follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery in Waterbury. Friends may call at the Alderson Funeral Home of Waterbury 9 Holmes Avenue on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. If desired memorial contributions may be made to VITAS Innovative Hospice Care 1579 Straits Turnpike Middlebury, CT. 06762 or to the Harold Leever Regional Cancer Center 1075 Chase Parkway Waterbury, CT. 06708.
