Cheshire - Betsey G. Hendrick, 80, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at MidState Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Hobart “Skip” Hendrick, Jr.

Mrs. Hendrick was born December 20, 1941, in Boston, MA, the daughter of the late Grady and Sylvia Garner. She attended the University of Montevallo in Alabama and had been a resident of Cheshire since 2001. She was a Study Hall Monitor at Cheshire High School and spent the last 14 years part of the Oasis Church fellowship, where she was considered a matriarch in the community.

Betsey walked with Jesus for 45-plus years. “Die to self” were not only words she spoke often, but they were words she lived by each and every day. She dedicated her life to God and family.

Mrs. Hendrick is survived by her children Hobart “John” Hendrick, III, and his wife Patricia of Cheshire, Charles Burton Hendrick, and his wife Cherae of Cheshire, and William Freeman Hendrick, and his wife Ailsa of Rollinsford, NH; her late brother Owen Garner and his wife Elizabeth of OH; her grandchildren John IV, Julia, Charlene, Adelaide, and Chloe Hendrick; as well as her nieces and nephews.

Arrangements – A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at Oasis Church, 176 Sandbank Rd., Cheshire at 10:30 am. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Evergreen Cemetery in New Haven and there are no calling hours. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire is assisting with arrangements.
