Old Orchard Beach, Maine; Mrs. Barbara Lucia (Strobel) Scott, devoted wife, mother and caregiver (1921 ' 2009) formerly of Waterbury and most recently of Old Orchard Beach, passed away with her sons by her side. Barbara was the wife of the late John Francis Scott and the daughter of the late Christian and Helen Strobel. She was the eldest of six children; Janice, Christian, George, Albert and Robert.

Jack and Barb were married December 13, 1942. Days after the celebration of their marriage, Jack left for Pacific duty with the US Navy for the duration of WW II. Barbara then went to work for Scovill Manufacturing Company. Barb's positive nature and sense of humor were contagious, as was her love of golf, tag sales and entertaining. She will best be remembered as a steadfast and tireless caregiver. Barbara's family would like to extend a special thank you to the Strobel family for their love and support throughout the years. Barbara has joined her beloved husband Jack in Heaven, where there is great rejoicing, she is already deeply missed.

During the final years of her life, Barbara enjoyed time with her sons John at Two Lights State Park in Cape Elizabeth, Maine and with Robert in Old Orchard Beach, Maine. In addition to her boys, Barbara is survived by her brothers, George, Albert and Robert, five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Barbara will be celebrated Saturday April 24, 2010 at 10 a.m. Blessed Sacrament Church in Waterbury. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery. There are no calling hours. The Mulville Funeral Home 270 West Main Street has care of arrangements.
